Happy Vibe

There is a trickle of laughter one can hear in the browned paths;

A chuckle here, a loud guffaw there, a wide bloated smile are all wandering aimlessly through the crowded narrow streets,

Hulllooo!!! An old gentleman calls out from his gallery on top; where are you all headed?
I wish to join you, he shouts out loud over the raucous din, displaying a toothless grin,

The 'grin' on seeing the happy crowd topples from the gallery, manages a cartwheel and two,
and joins the rest of the gang

As they travel past the smoke filled houses, poppy fields; a continuous exchange of fun banter takes place along the way;

A splash of rib-tickling humour moves like a wave over the troop; a nudge here, a gentle tickle there, leads to much tumbling over each other and rolling in laughter,

The summers are here with the bloom of newly sprung flowers,
A bunch of garden lilies, a string of jasmine and a wild lilac let out insanely bold scents;
hitch-hiking a ride with the laughter gang,

The cheerful crowd, now merrier by the dozen, draping fresh fragrances, with their spirits high, walk along making most of this summery day,

If you happen to spot this happy crowd, throw open your doors, inviting them in, make them a part of your lives, offer them your special cup of ginger tea along with some baked goodies,

And you will notice then, there will always be a reason for you to smile

Stay happy and share the good vibe

Psssttt: I know it's raining cats and dogs outside, but the rains make me feel all radiant and warm within and hence this summery post

Wanderlust

She picks up a coin, tosses it high up in the air; the heads challenge her to tread the path unknown and the tails still her to stop at the tracks,

Not waiting to catch an answer, she throws caution to the winds
and with a spring in her step unfolds onto  a new adventure

Gets lost in the surging crowds,
amongst nameless people in strange towns and cities,
Sipping hot cups of espressos in interesting cafes,
has a conversation or two with a freckled couple seated across at the next table

Sits on the steps of a windblown church, listening to deep lingering sonatas playing inside and feels the calmness of  the sea settle in her bones;
Hears the stranger next to her whisper sweet nothings into her ear;
I don't know you; you don't know me
Tosses her head back and laughs; a full throated sensous laughter revealing perfectly arranged teeth and moves on

Follows the silent trail of the ants in motion; listens to the chug of the smoke filled train at a nearby distance;
she is moving at a pace she is comfortable with;

Time has somewhat stilled for her, as she passes thru the narrow alleys, leading her to curiously built antique shops,
she lets out a shriek as her hand caresses the yesteryear treasures,
an old trunk,  a set of French wine glasses embossed with dates
marking back to a century old

Her heart sings with delight as she steps out into the cool air
the sunlight wickedly casting a slanting shadow,
An entire world is waiting ahead, wanting to embrace her;
fortunes out there yet to be explored

The world believes she is lost somewhere, yet she has reclaimed, a whole new tranquil self,  beckoning her to walk the tracks, in unexplored foreign lands, discovering magic with every step that she takes

HITCHHIKE

The other day I was late to class. My jaw dropped in relief on realising that the professor had not turned up. In...
